Config Pi 2 platform

Find where the Pi is connected, get IP connect SSH $ssh pi@192.168.x.x password: raspberry 3. $cd /home/pi/Documents/AWS_IoT 4. test is working $ sudo node awsSensorTag_syd.js ** to kill processes :: ctrl + c 5. install screen on raspi [temporary] $sudo apt-get install screen 6. $screen 7. sudo $ sudo node...

Connecting to AWS

. find IP where is the raspi is connected using nmap [install if needed] find the IP for raspi [use your IP for connection, check system settings] $nmap -sn 192.168.2.4/24    . connect to raspi $ssh pi@192.168.2.10 [i assume i got raspi on xxx.10] password default: raspberry Install AWS SDK, http://docs.aws.amazon.com/iot/latest/developerguide/iot-device-sdk-node.html   FROM there, 2. install npm 15min 3. npm install aws-iot-device-sdk 5 min 4. cd to Documentws clone latest code $git clone https://github.com/hypercoms/AWS_IoT.git cd to  AWS… /home/pi/Documents/AWS_IoT confirm certs are in  above path , algong with some JS test files     . run the sensor tag + AWS IoT  node file $sudo node awsSensorTag_syd.js > should show “connected” . on the sensor tag turn on sensor tag by pressing button with circle, should show  “coonected” Now values are sent to...

Raspberry Pi 3 + AWS IoT + Sensor Tag + BigData + n = hypercube

I will be creating the post for this, Goal, a web view, configurable accessible on hub   so basically we want to connect a raspberry Pi into an IoT platform. I decided to use an event driven architecture for this platform, in the form of AWS “serverless” architecture. I will place the lambdas and instructions on the use of the framework soon. This post is about using the Raspi as an IoT gateway, connecting in this case to the TI sensor tag. More connections coming soon. This is a post for the data science for IoT group. we need . Raspberry pi 3 . TI Sensor tag . AWS IoT platform . the data science… You can use this examples on your own and it will work, but to connect to this platform, place the data in the data base, we need to provide you with the authentication keys required. So just please send a message with name of your device, we will send back the certificate keys to connect to this instance of AWS IoT. connecting to AWS IOT once you have this files on your raspi   $ scp awsSensorTag_syd.js pi@192.168.2.6:/home/pi/Documents/syd ca.pem  certificate.pem.crt  private.pem.key to run on raspi [connect to IoT, send signal of sensor tag]: $ sudo node awsSensorTag_syd.js Doing log of all sensors, connecting to AWS IoT, now, pause for configuration of starter n go to wireless! https://planb.nicecupoftea.org/2016/03/20/wifi-connect-quick-wifi-access-point-to-tell-a-raspberry-pi-about-a-wifi-network/...

Node Red

my experiences with Node Red, why is great   At first I used Graphical programming at university to “program” lab equipment http://www.ni.com/labview/   Also programmed on Ladder language for PLCs http://automationprimer.com/2013/04/28/ladder-logic-204-auto-sequences/   Then programmed arduino & wiring for a project with the OLPC [One Laptop Per Child] for robotics with Amici http://dimeb.informatik.uni-bremen.de/eduwear/about/ the graphical “Turtle”, and off course scratch [MIT].   I also made “music” using puredata [visual programming language] https://puredata.info/   Then discovered that all this came from a very old philosophy of programming, FBP [Flow Based Programming] from the 70s [J. Paul Morrison]. And used to solve financial sector problems :] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow-based_programming   FBP have an awesome implementation on JS, http://noflojs.org/   It was evident that any IoT or physical computing platform to be truly multipurpose, needs to be easily programmable, and what better way than graphically? All of the above attempts to use visual programming were really good, but recently Im inclined to use mostly Node Red from IBM [Make list of other visual programming paradigms]   Tutorial Node Red   using Node Red on...
